What's Your Russia Posture?

Written by Joe Dahlquist | March 7, 2022

Whether for moral, compliance, or practical cybersecurity reasons, everyone needs to select and enforce a posture on Russia. At ThreatSTOP, our technology's use of broad and multi-faceted threat intelligence means we are uniquely able to track changes of control over network assets (such as Putin taking control of a Ukrainian telecom company). This precision enables you to protect your company and participate in sanctions that align with the posture you choose.

Today ThreatSTOP strengthens our protections with the addition of IP networks assigned to and announced by Russian entities that have been recently sanctioned under OFAC.

To get these protections, ThreatSTOP customers should add the new "Russian-Controlled Entities" category to their policy. For customers using our ITAR & OFAC Managed Rules for the AWS WAF, these protections have just been added, and you're already protected.

By implementing these protections, you can turn off all network communication with Russian-controlled entities and increase your own security in the process.

Here's a list of some of the Russian-Controlled Entities we are now blocking (Note that things are changing by the hour):
